The Hellenic Riding Club is the oldest equestrian club in Greece, a founding member of the Greek Equestrian Federation. It was founded in 1931 by high-ranking army officers and lay riding enthusiasts to become the only post-war venue open to everyone interested in the sport, greatly contributing to development of competitive riding in Greece. Several members of the large equestrian family, athletes and trainers who saw their careers taking off with the Hellenic Riding Club, contribute to the advancement of the sport and gain recognition at Greek and international competitions.
The club’s own premises in the northern Athenian suburb of Paradeisos Amaroussiou combine equestrian tradition and modern infrastructure, in full compliance with the standards of the World Equestrian Federation (Federation Equestre Internationale – FEI). The club facilities include open-air riding arenas, indoor riding arenas for horse training, a feed room, stone-built barns, vet room, a riding trail around the perimeter, wash stalls, grooming stalls, horse Sollarium and offices.
Surrounded by lush grounds, the Club’s lounge and observation area is housed in a traditional stone building with fireplace, offices and a large veranda, an ideal venue for social, corporate of cultural events. The club premises also include parking for 120 vehicles.
